first began as Magee Bros. Hollywood School of Beauty in 1964. Brothers Ron and
Pat Magee saw the opportunity in the cosmetology industry and opened two schools,
one based in Beaverton, OR and the other in Vancouver, WA. Jerry Manning successfully
ran the Vancouver location for ten years before he bought it from Pat Magee in
1974. Mr. Manning's vision and commitment to the industry helped him create
a very successful school. As a member of the National Hair Fashion Committee and
the Washington Hair Fashion Committee, he would attend, participate and judge
every hairdressing/haircutting competition in the Northwest and beyond. He loved
the cosmetology industry and his business. Jeff Manning, son of Jerry Manning,
graduated from Magee's in 1980. He continued to be a part of the school with regular
educational events and sharing with the students his insights into the salon business.
In July of 2004, Jeff Manning bought Magee Bros. Hollywood School of Beauty.
Since then, he has transformed it into a new and vibrant place which provides
a highly professional salon school atmosphere and renamed it Manning Academy of
Cosmetology. Jeff enjoys hands-on time with all students everyday and personally
interviews each candidate to ensure that the school enrolls quality students that
display creativity and energetic. Jeff surrounds himself with nothing but the
best by hiring top notch instructors and thoroughly tests each one before making
them part of this amazing team.
